End of Year Date and Time

School will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday 18th December for the end of our 2018 school year.  This includes the office.

Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from school as there will be no staff here in the afternoon. We will have a shortened lunchtime that day from 12:00 to 12:30.

If your child usually goes to Glamorgan Kids Club after school they should go at 1pm as the Kids Club will be open for them.

PLEASE NOTE: there will be no school bus in the afternoon or at 1pm.

Our first day of school for 2019 is Thursday 31st January.

The office will open on Tuesday 29th January and Wednesday 30th January  from 9am to 12:30pm for payment of stationery and donations.

Uniform orders will not be taken until 11th February.

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Congratulations Year 6

Congratulations to Year 6 children and their teachers on a fabulous Leavers Assembly last night. It is always amazing to see the growth and maturity of these children as they prepare to leave us and move on to intermediate school. Thank you to all those families who will now be leaving the school community also at the end of the year – your support has been very much appreciated and we wish you and your families all the very best for the future.

Special assembly

At the end of term 4 we say farewell to Lyn Peters who has resigned after 23 years at Glamorgan School and  will still be in touch through relieving teacher work in the future and  Tracey Poulter  who after 12 years at Glamorgan has accepted a position with the Blind and Low Vision Education Network – we wish them both well for the future.

There will be a special assembly to farewell Lyn and Tracey on Wednesday 12th December at 1:45pm in the school hall and you are all welcome to come along.

Lost Property

The lost property box is once again full! Please take a look in the box at the back of the school hall before or after school and take any of your child’s belongings home. Teachers will  also take the children to look at the lost property before the end of term. All property remaining after school closes will be donated to charity.

Pool Key Sales

The school pool is now open for the 2018/19 season. Pool keys can be purchased from the school office at a cost of $140 per key which includes a refundable $20 key bond and will give access to the pool after school, at weekends and during the school summer holidays.

Lunchroom closing for the end of year tomorrow

The lunch room will close tomorrow Friday 7th December and re-open on Thursday 7th February 2019.

Reverse Advent and Caring Crew NZ

Caring Crew NZ is a local charity set up by a Glamorgan School parent, that provides care packs for the parents or caregivers in hospital with their child. Glamorgan families are invited to drop off any new adult toiletries (drink bottles, hair brushes, lip balms, coffee sachets and sanitary products)  into a box at the school office right up to school finishing. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

FoTS News

Christmas Parade
Thank you to those who came out to support Glamorgan School’s entry to the Browns Bay Christmas Parade last weekend! Despite the rain, there was a really good turnout and we all appreciated seeing so many smiling faces. The children had a great time and were full of school (and Christmas!) spirit. We also raised around $50 for the Cancer Society. Special thanks to Joanne Butler and family for getting our dragon on the road again!
Alas, one of the inflatable dragons has gone missing. If your child brought one home from the parade on Saturday, please can you return this to the school office asap. They were ordered from the UK, so are not easy or cheap to replace (the shipping was the pricey part). Thank you!
