If your child has a persistant sore throat then have it checked out by your family doctor. Sometimes a sore throat is caused by Streptococcus bacteria (strep throat), which can lead to rheumatic fever if it is not treated with antibiotics. Rheumatic fever is a serious illness because it can cause heart damage.
Friends of The School (FoTS) News
QUIZ NIGHT – our biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up on Saturday 6th August 2016. Book your tickets online via www.tinyurl.com/glamorganquiz and join us for a fabulous fun night and support raising money for our school and children. See the flyer for details and get a group of friends together – it is such fun! Loads of auctions, prizes, raffles, games and much more. It’s a great chance to socialise as a school community so come and join us.
If you have any contacts or work for an organisation who would like to donate to our Quiz Night, please put your hand up and contact Morag on email@example.com or 021 041 2922. Last year we raised a massive $13,000 so let’s aim higher this year! A big thank you to our main quiz night sponsor Russell Thomas from Barfoot & Thompson Torbay.
Hamper and raffle items – if you’re sorting through things at home these holidays, please bring in any luxury food & wine, toiletries and sweets/chocolates that we can use to put raffles together. If you have items please drop them in at the school office. Last year we had wonderful items to make up hampers for the raffles which meant a lot of people went home with prizes! Thank you in advance for your help.
WHAT THE FAT EVENING – a big thank you to Judi Jones and Mary-Ann Du Toit as well as all the FOTS members, helpers and supporters who made the evening such a huge success. Thanks to the sponsors Paper Plus Browns Bay, New World Browns Bay, Pak ‘n Save Albany, The Collective Dairy Company, Inside Out Pilates, Carol Sequoia, Tasti, Sun Valley and The Mad Butcher for contributing to our event. We had a great turnout so thank you to everyone who came along to a very interesting evening which raised $1,678 for our school.
