End of Year Date and Time

School will close at 1 p.m. tomorrow Friday 16th December for the end of our 2016 school year.  This includes the office. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from school as there will be no staff here in the afternoon. We will have a shortened lunchtime from 12:00 to 12:30.  PLEASE NOTE: there will be no school bus in the afternoon or at 1pm.

If your child usually goes to Glamorgan Kids Club after school they should go at 1pm as the Kids Club will be open for them.

Our first day of school for 2017 is Thursday 2nd February.

The office will open on Tuesday 31st January  from 9am to 2pm for payment of stationery and donations. Uniform orders will not be taken until 9th February.

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Children going into Team  5 and, Team 6 in 2017

You are the first teams to have swimming lessons and they will start on Friday 3rd February and run 4 days per week for weeks 2 and 3 of the term. If you wish to have lessons with Swimbus please see details on their website including payments. Go to www.swimbus.co.nz and Glamorgan School has a tab on the left hand side which will give details of the programme and payment options. Please do not put money into the school account for swimming lessons, all payments go directly to Swimbus.

One of the first whole school events is Meet the Teacher Evening on 9th February. More details to come in the first newsletter next year.

The Friends of The School will be holding a sausage sizzle so why not come as a family and introduce yourselves, have a sausage and maybe picnic on the field with family and friends.

Library roofing upgrade

During the holidays we expect works to start on the upgrade of the library roof. This means trucks will access the library around the end of the hall and across the school field near the pool area. A temporary roadway will be created here and care needs to be taken when accessing the school playground areas or pool area. Primary aged children should not be by themselves without an adult at any time, but please do not send them to play at school without an adult present these coming holidays.

And finally thank you to all those who have helped the school over the past year. To the year 6 children and families whose association with Glamorgan School is coming to an end, we wish you all the best for the future. To the rest of our families, have a safe and happy holiday, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Nga mihi
