Term 2    Monday 1 May to Friday 7 July

Queen’s Birthday public holiday Monday 6th June

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Making connections with others from around the world – afternoon tea this afternoon in the staffroom. All welcome!

Has your family moved to New Zealand from another country?

A large number of the children and parents at Glamorgan School come from many different places in the world. Some are recent arrivals and others have been members of our school community for some time.

Meeting and connecting with other similar parents helps to strengthen and support our school family. It also provides opportunities for you to make new friends and perhaps feel more comfortable and able to participate fully in school life.

It is important to our school that we support all of our community and provide opportunities for all parents to be welcome, involved and included.

We would like to invite you to an afternoon tea to offer you the opportunity to meet and connect with others who may also be very new to our school. Please note: The invitation is open to everyone, not just families from another country.

When:        Thursday May 18th at 3:15 pm

Where:       Glamorgan School staffroom

We look forward to meeting you at this time.

From the Glamorgan Home/School and Cultural Connections Team

Drop off zone

After many requests, pamphlets, newsletters and asking for parents and caregivers to use the drop off zone correctly we are still having problems with blocking Glamorgan Drive from 2:45pm onwards, shouting, swearing, refusing to go around the block etc. From 6th June the drop off zone will be closed until 3:05pm. No cars will be able to enter until this time. The police and parking wardens have been requested to attend.

Friends of The School Discos – tomorrow

Our school ‘White and Bright’ DISCO is coming up this Friday 19th May – all children have received a flyer with details.  Juniors (years 1-3) 6-7pm; Seniors (years 4-6) 7:30 – 8:45pm. $5 entry, prizes for best dressed, best dancers and more.  We will be selling pizza and slushies again as they were a hit last year!  Coupon cards will be sold to be used as cash on the night.  Coupon cards and pizza will be pre-sold while children are in the queue for entry.  We will have a range of Dominos pizzas for sale including a few GF options for $2 a slice.
