Term 2 – 9am Monday 1 May to 3pm Friday 7 July
Kia ora koutou. Hello everyone.
All the children completed their New Zealand- a-thon tests today and should have their sheets signed by the teacher in their bags. The children have until Tuesday 4th July to gather their sponsorship funds. Please put the sponsor sheet and money in an envelope and send to school.
There is a ‘pizza for lunch’ prize for each team across the school to be won. The winning class in each team will have the highest percentage of children return their sponsor sheet with money. Pizza will be on Thursday 6th July for the winning classes.
Northern Bays Cluster Schools Performing Arts show
Many congratulations and thanks to Nicola Couch, Kate Koman and the children in the dance group who performed at the Bruce Mason Theatre last night. It was a great show and our dancers did themselves and our school proud. Fabulous!
Jammies in June and PJ Day
It was a grey and wintery day today – a perfect PJ day! We have been overwhelmed with the generosity shown with the amount of pyjamas we can forward to the Middlemore Foundation and also money donated for the hospitals to buy PJs they need for the children and young people to take home with them. If you would still like to donate a pair of pyjamas, the box will be in the office for one more week.
Mid year reports
On Wednesday 28th June your child’s mid year report will come home. Please check your child’s bag.
Each term we report to you about your child’s progress. In term 1 we held learning discussions where the children helped tell you about their learning and goals for their next steps along with their teacher. This term we have a written report. In term 3 we will have Sharing the Learning where children can share their learning with all their family and whanau and in term 4 we will have the end of year written report.
The report next week is designed to inform you about your child’s learning for this term, where they are in relation to National Standards and provide next steps to work on with ways you can support learning at home. In case there are any concerns teachers or parents wish to discuss, we have set aside a limited time for teachers to meet with parents on Tuesday 4th July from 3.15pm until 5:45pm. Please note, these meetings are only for parents whom the teacher has indicated they would like to meet again OR for parents who have a concern about their child they wish to discuss. The letter enclosed with the report will tell you how to make any appointment needed.
Of course, any time you have a query, concern or something to celebrate during the year and would like to meet with a teacher, you can phone the office or email the teacher to make an appointment.
