Term 2   9am Monday 1 May to 3pm  Friday 7 July

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

New Zealand-A-Thon

All the children completed their NZ- a-thon tests last Thursday and should have brought home their sheets signed by the teacher. The children have until Tuesday 4 July to gather their sponsorship funds. Please put the sponsor sheet and money in an envelope and send to school.

There is a ‘pizza for lunch’ prize for each team across the school to be won.  The winning class in each team will have the highest percentage of children return their sponsor sheet with money. Pizza will be on Thursday 6th July for the winning classes.

Mid Year Reports

Yesterday, Wednesday 28th June, your child’s mid year report came home. Please check your child’s bag.

The report is designed to inform you about your child’s learning for this term, where they are in relation to National Standards and provide next steps to work on with ways you can support learning at home.  In case there are any concerns teachers or parents wish to discuss, we have set aside a limited time for teachers to meet with parents on Tuesday 4th July from 3.15pm until 5:45pm. Please note, these meetings are only for parents whom the teacher has indicated  they would like to meet again OR for parents who have a concern about their child they wish to discuss.  The letter enclosed with the report will tell you how to make any appointment needed.

Of course, at any time you have a query, concern or something to celebrate during the year and would like to meet with a teacher, you can phone the office or email the teacher to make an appointment.

Jammies in June

Jammies in June was again a success with over 80 pairs of pyjamas sent to Middlemore hospital and a total of $300 donated in cash. Many thanks for supporting this cause. As well as the obvious benefit for the children in need, our own children have learned more about the conditions others live in and had a huge amount of fun on PJ day too!

Farewell and welcome

We farewell teacher Brooke Mabbott at the end of this term on maternity leave and wish her and husband Dave all the very best for the birth of their first child due in August.

We welcome Lisa McLean who will teach the rest of the year in Room 2 and also Ann Morris who will be starting the next new entrant class in term 3 in Room 23.

Lost property

We have a huge pile of lost property in the box at the back of the hall. Teachers will be taking the children to have a look but if you wish to pop into the hall yourselves you are welcome. Any lost property left at the end of term will be given to charity.

Whole School Assembly

Team 4 are leading our whole school assembly tomorrow Friday 30th June at 2:00pm in the hall. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Coming to school early

A reminder that children are not supposed to be at school before 8:15am in the morning. Before then teachers are busy preparing for the day ahead and in various meetings.
