KidsCan is an organisation that is helping Kiwi kids living in hardship a chance to create a brighter future for themselves. Come to school with crazy hair. Chuck on that wig or flash up your hair! Let’s do it for KidsCan!
Bring a gold coin donation and all proceeds will go to KidsCan.

2018 Enrolment Applications
If you have a child turning 5 next year or know of anyone else who has a child and wants them to come to Glamorgan School in 2018 please let the office know as soon as possible. All in zone children are guaranteed a place.
Out of zone applications- advance information
Any out of zone applications for 2018 will to go into a ballot held in October, if we have any places to offer. All out of zone applications must be in to the school office by 18th October.
Please note: if you have a child enrolled out of zone already this does not give any other siblings in your family an automatic place at the school. Each out of zone child must go through the ballot process and therefore it is essential you apply as soon as possible.
For the past five years we have not been able to take many out of zone applicants, but we have managed to accommodate out of zone siblings of current pupils. Our current roll growth is such that we may need to consider whether even this will be possible in future years. Please consider your local school if you have out of zone siblings.
We have had several cases of chickenpox in the school this week mainly in the year 1 area. Please look out for the following symptoms and if not sure take your child to the doctor or check the following link: http://www.health.govt.nz/your-health/conditions-and-treatments/diseases-and-illnesses/chickenpox
People with chickenpox have small blisters (like a rash) on their skin, these can be very itchy.
Other symptoms of chickenpox are:
- general aches and pains.
Board of Trustees meeting
The Board will meet at 7pm on Wednesday 27th September in the administration building. Anyone is welcome to come along.
We have had a variety of illnesses this term between the children and the staff but we seem to be overcoming most things now. Can I please remind caregivers though that children should not come back to school if they have had a fever, vomiting or diarrhoea until they have had 24 hours clear. Many thanks.
Please take time to have a look through the lost property box at the back of the hall if your child has lost anything this term. Any unclaimed items at the end of the term will be given to a charity.

Mumps Outbreak – Information for families from the Auckland District Health Board
Auckland is experiencing an unprecedented mumps outbreak. There have been over 370 cases with more than 60 schools affected this year. Schools have had to exclude students and staff with mumps and any close contacts who haven’t been fully immunised with the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine. This has disrupted the school, the students’ learning and parents who have had to take time off work. Mumps can have serious complications requiring hospitalisation.
Please see the following link for information regarding immunisation or contact your family doctor for more information: http://www.arphs.govt.nz/Portals/0/Images/MMRImmunisationInsert.jpg
