ANZAC Service Browns Bay

Thank you to Elvin Aghdassi, Matilda Cross and Timothy Cross who will lay a wreath on behalf of the school on ANZAC Day at the morning service in Browns Bay.

The children have been learning about ANZAC Day and below is a poem written by one of the children in year 3.

In One Minute’s Silence
By: Izzy Carmichael
Age: 7
In one minute’s silence…..
Can you imagine the firing of the guns,
As the sky turns black from the bullets?
In one minute’s silence…..
Can you imagine people having a good day,
When suddenly people with guns come running onto the shore?
In one minute’s silence……
Can you imagine all of the diggers shooting at all of the other soldiers,
When they know that they are just as important as them?
In one minute’s silence……
Can you imagine all of the dead bodies lying on the floor from being shot…..
In one minute’s silence.

Gumboot Up on Friday 5 April!

Thank you for supporting Gumboot Up! last Friday and the  I Am Hope campaign raising finds for children who need some mental health support. We raised $551  altogether. It was a warm day for Gumboots but we persevered ! Below are some children with their teacher Kirsty Hewitt enjoying the sunshine in their boots.

Christchurch Foundation Appeal

Thank you also for supporting the gold coin collection for the Christchurch appeal after the tragic events of 15th March. We raised $571.90 which has been sent to the Foundation.

The pool is now closed and this is the end of the 2018/19 swimming season. If you have a key please return this to the office before 24 May in order to get back the key deposit of $20. Please note: money will not be given to children.
