Kia ora koutou. Hello everyone.
A huge thank you for your support of the NZ-a-thon which raised over $10,000. The funds will support a variety of projects in our school including extra learning resources in the classrooms, furniture, ICT equipment and library books. Thank you so much.
Mid year reports in your child’s bag today
Today Thursday 27th June your child’s mid year report will come home. Please check your child’s bag.
The mid year report is designed to inform you about your child’s learning for this term in numeracy and literacy, where they are in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum and provide next steps to work on with ways you can support learning at home. Included with the report is an explanation of the levels of the New Zealand Curriculum and expectations of where children should be working for their year level.
In case there are any concerns teachers or parents wish to discuss, we have set aside a limited time for teachers to meet with parents on Thursday 4th July from 3.15pm until 6pm. Please note, these meetings are only for parents whom the teacher has indicated they would like to meet again OR for parents who have a concern about their child they wish to discuss. The letter enclosed with the report will tell you how to make any appointment needed.
Of course, any time you have a query, concern or something to celebrate during the year and would like to meet with a teacher, you can phone the office or email the teacher to make an appointment.

Oneroa Kāhui Ako Matariki Festival
Well done to our senior Kapa Haka group who took part in the inaugural Oneroa Kāhui Ako/Community of Learning Matariki Festival held at Sherwood School last Friday morning. All seven schools sent performing arts groups to the festival which was also visited by Education Minister Chris Hipkins, who was very impressed with the standard of the performances. We hope this will become an annual event to be held at different schools each year. The 2020 festival will be held at Long Bay College.

Jammies in June
If you would still like to donate a pair of new flannelette PJs (any size but don’t forget the teenagers too!) there is a box in the office to pop them in or you can donate a gold coin. Please have any donations to the school office by Wednesday 3rd July. Thank you to all those families that have donated PJs or money already.
Our lost property box is full! If your child has lost property this term please check the box at the back of the hall. Any lost property left at the end of term will be donated to charity.
