Senior Athletics Day 8-11 year olds

This year’s athletics day for all children 8 years and older will follow the timetable below on Wednesday 13th November or save day Thursday 14th November.  The whole school comes together at 1.25 p.m. for the sprint finals.

Please ensure your children wear appropriate clothing for the day – hats, shorts, sun block, a top with short sleeves etc. have a water bottle at school, and have their asthma inhaler if necessary.

Sprint finals will go from the Room 16 end of the field towards the far bank where parents and family can sit and watch. During the sprint finals we would appreciate you all stepping back from the finish line and remaining on the bank so the staff can clearly see the children when they cross the line.

2020 events planning
Our next FOTS meeting – on 19 November at 7pm – will be a planning session for 2020. Please feel free to join us and make any suggestions for new events or tweaks to existing ones! We will also be looking for a new chairperson for next year (to be elected in December), so this is a great time to get involved if you’ve been holding back. New ideas and faces are always welcome! Contact Katie at fots@glamorgan.school.nz for more info or with any comments/suggestions for 2020 events.
Disco update
A big thank you to all our helpers for an excellent Hawaiian Beach Party disco last week, to our sponsor Karin Blaauw from Barfoot & Thompson, and to all who came and supported the event! In total, we raised $2581, all towards the new kapa haka uniforms and notebook laptops for the classrooms.
We’d welcome any feedback on the new format we trialed at this disco – please contact Katie at fots@glamorgan.school.nz with any comments or suggestions. Thank you!
Browns Bay Santa parade – 7 December
Glamorgan School will be walking in the Browns Bay Santa parade in the afternoon of 7 December – save the date! Afterwards, we are going to congregate by the beach – grab your picnic rugs, bring a picnic, and join us for a relaxing evening as a community.
We ask that there is a responsible adult for each child walking. Thank you!
