PhotoLife Sports team and groups photos

Shoot keys for sports teams and school group photos were sent home on Monday, 11th November – check your child’s bag or book bag. Please note the shortened ‘free delivery’ time period for parents to place orders due to the fast approaching end of school year and to allow time for Photolife to process, print and deliver orders before school closes. The free delivery period ends at midnight on Sunday 1st December. 

Pool Key Sales

The school pool will open for the 2019/20 season on Friday 29th November and close on Friday 3rd April. Pool keys can be purchased from the school office at a cost of $140 per key which includes a refundable $20 key bond and will give access to the pool after school, at weekends and during the school summer holidays. Keys will be sold to current school families first and if any remain then to the local community. School families may purchase a key from Monday 18th November and the local community from Monday 25th November.

Whole School Assembly

Our next whole school assembly will be led by Team 4 on Friday 22nd November at 2pm in the school hall. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Have your say on AT’s proposed improvements to Glenvar Road and East Coast Road

Auckland Transport is applying for funding to make improvements to parts of Glenvar Road, a short section of Ashley Ave and East Coast Road (between Glenvar Road and Oteha Valley Road). AT project

To learn more about the proposed improvements or provide feedback, go to: members will be at the school gate next Tuesday 19 November from 2.45 – 3.30pm to answer any questions you have and hear your views.


2020 events planning
Our next FOTS meeting – on 19 November at 7pm – will be a planning session for 2020. Please feel free to join us and make any suggestions for new events or tweaks to existing ones! We will also be electing next year’s chairperson in December, so this is a great time to get involved if you’ve been holding back. New ideas and faces are always welcome! Contact Katie at for more info or with any comments/suggestions for 2020 events. 

2020 School fair – SAVE THE DATE!
We are excited to announce that our first event for 2020 will be a school fair, to be held on Friday evening, 13 March! A very big thank you to Jo Glass for taking this on for us. Over the coming weeks, and start of next year, we will be reaching out for donations and volunteers, so please watch this space for more info. Save the date now! 

Browns Bay Santa parade – 7 December
Glamorgan School will be walking in the Browns Bay Santa parade in the afternoon of 7 December – save the date! Afterwards, we are going to congregate by the beach – grab your picnic rugs, bring a picnic, and join us for a relaxing evening as a community. 
We ask that there is a responsible adult for each child walking. Thank you!
The Big Paint orders ready for collection 
If your child took part in this activity in the school hall during the last school holidays, your items can be collected from the school office. Thank you again to those who joined in, we hope you like your finished products!
Calendar art – final order closed
The 3rd and final order has now closed. Thank you to all our parents for ordering – the kids did such great work! If everything goes well, all products should be received by the end of November/start of December. 

Kia Māia te Whai- Dare to Explore at Auckland Libraries

Looking for fun, free ways to keep your Children/ tamariki learning and building their reading skills over summer? Sign up for Kia Māia te Whai- Dare to Explore, Auckland Libraries’ summer reading adventure for children aged 5-12 years.

Don’t miss out! You can register online from 18 November at OR visit one of our 54 participating libraries. This is a great activity to do with friends, so encourage your child’s buddies to come along and join the adventure.
Fill your children’s summer holidays with exciting challenges and take part in the free activities offered at your local library.

Keep your kids’ reading levels up over the long summer break. This year the theme is Onamata Inamata Anamata- Past, Present, Future. All of our fabulous characters are back, along with Moa who returns this year. Children can join the programme from home, at the library, online, or away on holiday.  Get involved and see why over 13,000 tamariki enjoyed reading with Auckland Libraries last summer!

Key dates are:

18 November            Online registration opens

9 December              The programme begins. Children can collect their booklets
20 January                Programme finishes. Last day for checking in at the library

21 – 28 January       Celebration week with library party
