FOTS News
Final 2019 meeting – 10 December, 7pm
Our final meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, 10 December at 7pm in the staff room (which is above the office; please use the stairs to the left, outside). We’re going to elect our 2020 chairperson and finalise our events calendar for next year. Please feel free to come along – new people are always welcome! Contact Katie at fots@glamorgan.school.nz for more info.

Calendar art – THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for your support with the Calendar Art fundraiser.  We raised $ 2,652.00 for the school! We really hope you like the products.

If you have any feedback (good or bad), please let us know – fots@glamorgan.school.nz

Browns Bay Santa parade – 7 December
Glamorgan School will be walking in the Browns Bay Santa parade in the afternoon of 7 December – save the date! Please wear red and green, and dress Christmassy!
The parade starts at 5pm, so we will meet from 4.30pm on Glen Road – the organisers have asked that we please enter from Anzac Road. We will just be walking this year, without our famous dragon’s head, so please look out for the school flags and your FOTS team! We ask that there is a responsible adult with each child walking. Thank you!
Afterwards, we are going to congregate by the beach – grab your picnic rugs, bring a picnic, and join us for a relaxing evening as a community.

Special School Assembly at 2:15pm Tuesday 10th December

After 25 years as a teacher aide at our school and a 35 year association altogether including time when her children and grandchildren have attended Glamorgan, Shirley Morgan has decided the time has come to retire. An assembly will be held in the school hall on Tuesday 10th December at 2:15pm followed by an afternoon tea in the staffroom. You are welcome to come along. Please let the office know if you will be coming for afternoon tea (adults only please) so we can cater accordingly.

School Choirs

Many congratulations to our school choirs who both performed recently; the Kids4Kids Choir at the Bruce Mason Theatre in Takapuna as a part of the Kids4Kids Concert and the APPA Choir at the APPA Choir Festival at the Auckland Town Hall. Both events were fabulous and the choirs represented the school brilliantly.

Our thanks must go to teacher Nicola Couch, who trains the choirs, for her endless enthusiasm and passion. Nicola is a talented musician herself who plays for the Auckland Symphony Orchestra and she has given the children wonderful opportunities to perform this year. It is a credit to her that the children develop the confidence and self belief to perform to a very high standard – and have fun at the same time! Well done to all those involved and thank you to the parents who have driven their children all over the North Shore and Auckland to perform this year and helped out at the concerts.

Pool Key Sales

The school pool will open for the 2019/20 season tomorrow 29th November and close on Friday 3rd April. Pool keys can be purchased from the school office at a cost of $140 per key which includes a refundable $20 key bond and will give access to the pool after school, at weekends and during the school summer holidays.
