Term 2 ends at 3pm on Friday 3rd July

Term 3 starts 9am Monday 20th July

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Tomorrow we come to the end of term 2  and to say the first half of this year has been a different experience is an understatement! Once again from all the staff thank you for your ongoing support throughout the lock down and various levels since coming back to school. Have a restful holiday and we will see you next term.

Term 3 parent discussions

We have arranged to have 15 minute parent discussions in weeks 2 and 3 of next term after school has finished and therefore will not be closing the school early this time. At the discussion the teacher will give you a brief report of where your child is working against the curriculum in reading, writing and maths and talk to you about their progress and next learning goals. This is also a chance to catch up on the wellbeing of your child and how things are going for them socially and emotionally. Discussions will be held on the following days and times:

Tuesday 28th July:  3:15pm – 6:00pm

Thursday 30th July:  3;15pm – 5:30pm

Thursday 6th August:  3;15pm – 5:30pm

You will be able to book a time through the online booking system and details of how to do this will be emailed to you early in week 1 of the term.

Term dates for the remainder of 2020

When teachers settled on a new collective agreement with the Ministry of Education in 2019 an Accord was also negotiated which would give a further 8 days spread over 2020, 2021 and to June of 2022 when schools will close to provide time for teachers to review the curriculum and for professional development.  The remaining dates for 2020 when the school will be closed are Friday 28th August and Tuesday 27th October. Dates for the remainder of 2020 are therefore as follows:

Term 3 – Monday 20th July to Friday 25th September

(School closed Friday 28th August)

Term 4 – Monday 12th October to Wednesday 16th December

(Public holiday: Labour Day 26th October and school also closed 27th October)

Head lice

We are seeing a few cases of head lice at the moment. Please keep checking your child’s hair and treat as required.

For more information please follow this link or visit your local chemist  https://www.health.govt.nz/your-health/conditions-and-treatments/diseases-and-illnesses/head-lice

Lunch room

Unfortunately Deejays have had to restructure their organisation after the COVID lockdown and made the decision not to return to Glamorgan School. Therefore our lunch room is now closed but we have organised that  from term 3 we will be using the online service Ezlunch instead. Please see details below.
