Term 4 ends at 1pm on Tuesday 15th December

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Parent/Teacher/Child Discussions and end of year reports
This year has been a disrupted and different one for reporting to you as parents, but the feedback we received from having the discussions over several afternoons and for 15 minutes per family instead of 10 minutes was very positive. Following on from this, we are now offering these discussions again. Remaining appointments can be made on
  • Monday 7th December between 3:15pm and 5:30pm.
The teacher will give you and your child their end of year report at the discussion and discuss their progress with you. The link and code to make a booking for a discussion is below:
www.schoolinterviews.co.nz        Code: 7devb
Any parents and caregivers who cannot attend a discussion will receive the report, stationery list and other information on 10th December in the same envelope that will come home with your child’s class placement for 2021.
Your child’s stationery list for 2021 and the letter containing information about donations, Mathletics, Reading Eggs, class consumables and any other information pertaining only to your child’s team next year will now come home with the class placement sheet on 10th December.  Online stationery orders through OfficeMax will open on 11th December.

Oneroa Kahui Ako – Food Drive

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Thank you for your support as we collect food and other items for the Salvation Army for families in need this Christmas. We have collected well over 200 items for these families! Thank you if you have contributed! You have already made a huge difference.

If you haven’t had a chance to send any items with your child yet, don’t worry! We have made the decision to extend our food drive ending date to the 4th of December! Your child can come to school and take their item to Room 15 to donate!

Examples of items you could send with your child to donate include:

  • Dried goods (like pasta and rice)
  • Long lasting sweet treats (like biscuits, lollies, and candy-canes)
  • Toiletries (like deodorants, moisturizer, facial wash, and body soaps)
  • Canned food (such as baked beans, spaghetti-in-a-tin, and canned fruit)

And anything else that will give some families in need some christmas joy!

Thank you for your support as we help families have a great Christmas 2020!

Kind Regards

Ethan du Toit, Ella Irving, and Saya Lang

On behalf of the Oneroa Kahui Ako

Congratulations Glamorgan Flames

This year’s sporting fixtures have been severely affected by the pandemic and netball was just one of those sports, but whilst this year meant teams only had half a winter season, the Glamorgan Flames were undefeated in the top grade up until play closed down. They have gone on to play spring netball and with just 1 week to go have still not lost a game, including beating a club made team as well! There’s no prizegiving this year so we would like to say many congratulations to the following children, their coach and manager:

Lucia Sanna
Aria Bishop
Sienna Ryan
Kaia Cousins
Chloe Miller
Jade Ov
Elesha Angus
Zayah Rameka
Naomi Manu (Long Bay Primary for the Spring league))
Coach: Monique Sanna
Manager: Yolande Rothschild

and the Silver Dragons!

The Silver Dragons won the photo competition at Netball North Harbour in August. They had to snap a photo of themselves or their favourite team visiting the Barfoot & Thompson Netball Centre and post it onto Instagram or Facebook with the words #WeLoveNetball.
The parents and girls agreed and they entered their photo and won!  The team enjoyed the goodies plus a bag, netball ball, towel and umbrella which the next Year 6 netball team can use. Well done girls!
