End of Year Date and Time
School will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday 15th December for the end of our 2020 school year. This includes the office. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from school as there will be no staff here in the afternoon.
PLEASE NOTE: there will be no school bus in the afternoon or at 1pm. If your child usually goes to Glamorgan Kids Club after school they should go at 1pm as the Kids Club will be open for them.
Our first day of school for 2021 is Thursday 4th February.
The office will open on Wednesday 3rd February from 9am to 12:00pm for payment of donations, outdoor education activities etc. Uniform orders will not be taken until 15th February.
Kia ora koutou. Hello everyone.
Congratulations Year 6

* Terms & Conditions apply, see myschool.co.nz for details.
The last day for Ezilunch orders is tomorrow Friday 11th December and first day in 2021 is Thursday 4th February.
The lost property box is at the back of the hall. Please take a look if your child has lost anything this term. All left over clothing at the end of the term will be donated to charity.
Touch Rugby Registration for 2021
Friday 11 December is the last day that you can register your child to play Touch Rugby in term 1 2021. Please complete and return the registration form to email@example.com
We are in need of coaches for 2021 miniball teams. Miniball is junior basketball and the games are on Tuesdays at the Browns Bay Leisure Centre. Coaching is in the hall at the best time to suit the coach on the times we have available. If you are interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spare swimming togs and towels
If you have any towels or swimming togs your children have outgrown and you wouldn’t mind donating them to school as a back up for children who forget theirs occasionally, then please send them to Robyn Bennett in Room 23. Many thanks.
Swimming lessons in 2021
If your child is in Year 2 or 3 next year you will receive a letter with your child’s class placement sheet (which should be in your child’s bag this afternoon) from the swim school detailing how to book lessons in term 1. Please read this carefully and if you want your child to have swimming lessons with Skillz4Life swim school, then follow the payment instructions using your child’s 2021 class room number. Please note the shortened timeframe to pay, this is to allow the swim school time to organise classes and employ the right amount of instructors. You must pay between 11th and 2oth December. Late payments will not be accepted. Do not pay the school as we do not handle this money or organise these lessons.
Children in Years 4 and 5 will have the opportunity for lessons in December 2020. Children in year 6 swim as a part of the Waterwise programme.
Please note that children who do not have lessons with Skillz4Life will still have the opportunity to swim in the school pool after the lessons have finished.
Meet the teacher evening 10th February 2021
One of the first whole school events next year is Meet the Teacher Evening on 10th February 2021. You should go to your child’s classroom.
Teams 1, 5 and 6 at 5:45pm
Teams 2, 3 and 4 at 6:30pm.
Thank you for all your support this term, we managed to raise $200 for each of the charities Foster Hope and StarJam with the gold coin discos last week and donated an enormous amount of food to the Salvation Army to help those who need it over the Christmas period.
As a group of schools the Oneroa Kāhui Ako managed to raised over $3500 for Foster Hope and the gifts bought this week have almost all gone with multiple agencies reaching out to Foster Hope to help children taken into care. Thank you all so much.
And finally thank you to all those who have helped the school over the past year. To the year 6 children and families whose association with Glamorgan School is coming to an end, we wish you all the best for the future. To the rest of our families, have a safe and happy holiday, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.
