Term 1 ends at 3pm on Friday 16th April
(School will be closed on 1st,2nd,5th and 6th April)
Kia ora koutou. Hello everyone.
Well, week 5 at school turned out a bit differently to what we expected but thank you all for supporting our school and community by following the Alert level 3 guidelines and rules and helping your children through this week with home learning. We understand this is difficult for some parents as you are trying to work from home as well and the effort you are putting in is much appreciated. As we do have a small bubble of children at school, our school grounds are closed – please explain this to family members looking after your children and older siblings as they are used to riding their bikes around the playground etc and don’t realise we are still open as a school so they need to stay away in Level 3. Playgrounds are all closed in Level 3 as well.
Updating School Records
A form was sent home last week to all children from the office to update your family details so we have the correct phone numbers, email addresses and emergency contacts for your child. Please complete this form and send it back to school as soon as we re-open if you haven’t already. If all details are still the same please write ‘no changes’ on the form and send it back anyway. It is so important in these Covid times that your contact details are up to date and correct so we can communicate with you and contact you immediately if we need to.
If you move house, change email or phone numbers or emergency contacts for your child please let the office know at any time of the year. You don’t need to wait for this form to come home again at the beginning of next year. Many thanks.
We will not loan any further devices before the weekend now BUT if we are to remain at Level 2 after the weekend you will receive a short email with a link to a google form to complete if you wish to borrow a device from school. Please complete this form by 10am next Monday morning so we can prepare and get the devices to you as quickly as possible.
If we move to Level 2 school will open and all loaned devices need to be returned on Monday morning.
All year 1,2,3 and 4 children and those who were interested in years 5 and 6 brought home a notice last week about playing netball this year. Please check your child’s bag if you have not seen it and if it is lost or you want your child to play and they have not brought a notice home, you can download the notice and registration form from the school website under Parent Information-Permission slips. Registration and fees are due by Friday 12th March.
Big Day In – Monday 8th March 2021
This event would only go ahead at Level 1 which is now very unlikely and as we have not had the time to prepare with the children, the Big Day In is cancelled.
Hockey 2021 Years 3 – 6
Please see the information below.
If your child is interested in playing hockey, you can download the notice below and registration form from the school website under Parent Information-Permission Slips. Alternatively you can collect a notice from Sue Hobin in the ESOL room when we are back at school.
Games are played on Mondays and commence 10 May 2021 (at this stage).
Fees will be approximately $100 to $115 for Mini Sticks, $115 to $130 for Kiwi Sticks Development and $125 to $140.00 for Kiwi Sticks Advanced.
A Glamorgan sports uniform is required. This can be purchased from the office but please wait until teams are confirmed and the amount finalised.
The amount of interest we get from players and people able to coach and manage, will determine what teams we enter. A small reduction in fees is made for coaches as a thank you.
