Term 1 ends at 3pm on Friday 16th April

(School will be closed on 1st,2nd,5th and 6th April)

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Reporting to parents

After feedback from families and teachers we have changed our reporting slightly this year so we are meeting families in the first half of the year when goals can be set and then  worked on together before meeting again. This means parent/teacher/child discussions will be at the end of term 1 and term 2 and if the teacher or family still feels a meeting is necessary in term 4, then a day will be put aside for this to happen.  Feedback was that meeting in term 4 for most families was too late in the year to actually put any plans in place and follow though before the school year ends.

An updated summary of the reporting cycle is below:

Term 1    Meet The Teacher (10th February) and  Parent/Teacher/Child discussions (22nd, 29th and 31st March between 3:15 and 5:30pm. We use an online tool to book appointments – details below)

Term 2   Written report against progress made in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum. Parent/Teacher/Child discussions (29th and 30th June and 6th July between 3:15 and 5:30pm. We use an online tool to book appointments – details will be in the school newsletter the week before bookings open with the code to access our school’s times)

Term 3   Sharing the Learning: Y1-6   3-6pm (Thursday 23rd September)

Term 4   End of year written report against all curriculum areas. Parent/ Teacher/Child discussions for those families who request one (Date to be advised)

Parent/Teacher/Child Discussions Term 1

  • Monday 29th March between 3:15pm and 5:30pm and
  • Wednesday 31st March between 3:15pm and 5:30pm.
The link and code to make a booking for a discussion is below:        Code: rmyx8

Whole School Assembly – Team 2 leading (if we are at Alert Level 1)

Our whole school assembly on Friday 19th March at 2pm in the school hall will be led by Team 2 and you are all welcome to come along. Please note this will only go ahead if we are at Alert Level 1.

Updating School Records

A form was sent home last week to all children from the office to update your family details so we have the correct phone numbers, email addresses and emergency contacts for your child. Please complete this form and send it back to school as soon as we re-open if you haven’t already. If all details are still the same please write ‘no changes’ on the form and send it back anyway. It is so important in these Covid times that your contact details are up to date and correct so we can communicate with you and contact you immediately if we need to.

If you move house, change email or phone numbers or emergency contacts for your child please let the office know at any time of the year. You don’t need to wait for this form to come home again at the beginning of next year. Many thanks.

Netball – registration and fees due by tomorrow

All year 1,2,3 and 4 children and those who were interested in years 5 and 6 brought home a notice about playing netball this year. Please check your child’s bag if you have not seen it and if it is lost or you want your child to play and they have not brought a notice home, you can download the notice and registration form from the school website under Parent Information-Permission slips. Registration and fees are due by tomorrow Friday 12th March.
