PhotoLife sibling photos next Monday

Sibling photos will be taken next Monday 17th May by PhotoLife. If you would like sibling photos then you or your child needs to collect a sibling photo form from the school office and return it before photos are taken on Monday. PhotoLife will not take any sibling photos if they have not received the form.

Please note that the school does not take any money for the photos, all payments are made directly to Photolife.

Bullying Free New Zealand Week

Bullying-Free New Zealand Week starts 17th May and ends with the Mental Health Foundation’s Pink Shirt Day on Friday 21st May. This year’s theme is He Kōtuinga mahi iti, he hua pai-ā rau – Small ripples create big waves. The small actions we take to help prevent bullying will together create a wave of change. The week provides a great opportunity for students to celebrate what makes them unique and encourage schools to build environments where everyone is welcome, safe and free from bullying.

The week ends with Pink Shirt Day where children and adults  can wear a pink shirt on 21st May in support of Bully-Free NZ week. We realise not everyone has pink in their wardrobe and we do not expect families to buy especially for the day. A pink hair tie or wristband is just as welcome. If you wish to make a gold coin donation this will be given to the Mental Health Foundation.

Entry gate by the caretakers shed
Please note that whilst we have contractors and equipment arriving at school in the mornings, the area around the caretakers shed will not be available for access before school and therefore the gate will be locked. Please tell your child/ren, or drop off your child if in a car, further down the drop off zone where there is another gate by the shelter or outside the hall where there is a gate at each end by the hall gardens.

Northern Bays Cluster Schools Performing Arts Festival

Every 2 years the Northern Bays Cluster of schools hold a performing arts show in the Bruce Mason Theatre for one evening. This year it is being held on the evening of 16th June and our choir will perform. Tickets are now available through Ticketmaster at the link below. There will also be a display of art work from the cluster on the walls of the theatre, which is open on Tuesdays should anyone be in Takapuna and want to have a look!

World-A-Thon Fundraiser

This year’s a-thon is a World-a-thon and on Monday 24th May your child will bring home their fact sheet to learn and a sponsor sheet. The World-a-Thon was chosen to support the children’s learning about the geography, history, bird, plant and sea life of our own and other countries. Fundraising from the a-thon supports items such as extra learning resources in the classrooms, furniture, ICT equipment and library. Please help your child to learn their facts and ask the teacher if you are unsure of anything.

The testing day will be Thursday 9 June and children will have until Friday 25th June to gather their sponsorship funds following the testing day. We do not encourage children to go ‘door knocking’ and prefer that you monitor the soliciting of sponsors. Donations are welcomed should you not approve of gaining sponsorship.  We appreciate your assistance in this regard. Please complete the sponsor sheet and send this to school on the test day.

Thank you for supporting the World-A-Thon, raising money for the school and increasing your child/ren’s knowledge at the same time!
