Photo Access Key slips for individual, family and class photos taken this term were sent home yesterday – check your child’s bag or book bag. Please note the ‘free delivery’ time period for parents to place orders closes at midnight on Sunday 27th June. You can order photos after this date but the delivery is not free. All orders go through PhotoLife – the school takes no orders or money for photos.
Our school gates are closed by monitors just before the 9am bell each day and opened just before the 3pm bell. If you arrive at school and the gates are closed please keep them closed and do not hook them open. We have children who need to stay inside the school property at all times and the fencing and gates are an extra safety precaution to keep them as safe as possible.
End of day drop off zone
As of Monday 31st May all children waiting to be picked up from the drop off zone after the gates open at 3:15pm will be kept on the top playground until just before 3:15. This is a safety measure as currently they are running and playing in the drop off zone, climbing on the clothing bin and near the road which is unsafe.
World-A-Thon test day coming!
This year’s a-thon is a World-a-thon and the testing day will be next Thursday 9 June so one last weekend to get those facts learnt and be ready for Thursday! Please send the sponsor sheet back to school on Thursday. After the test is completed, the teacher will enter the number of questions correct, sign the sheet and send it back home. The children will then have until Friday 25 June to gather their sponsorship funds. Please put the sponsor sheet and money in an envelope, clearly labelled and send to school . Alternatively, funds can be deposited into the school account (ASB 12 3080 0059486 00) with the reference AThon and your child’s name and the sheet sent into the office with ‘paid online’ written on it.

School Cross Country Thursday 10th June
The whole school will be participating in our cross country run on Thursday 10th June (save day Friday 11 June). The children will run a course around our school grounds adapted for their age. You are all welcome to come along and cheer the children on. Children run in age groups as below. Please note that races will not run according to a timetable – a race will start after the last runner has finished the previous race. There is no set time for a race.
Assemble: 9:15 am beneath rooms 18, 19, 20 on the school field.

From this event we will select our school cross country team from the 8,9 and 10+ year groups to compete at the interschools cross country races on Wednesday 30 June (save day 8 July) at Long Bay Regional Park.
The children will be sitting in age lines on their chairs in the middle of the field supervised by teachers. Children who need to leave the field are directed down a chute where they will be given a pass to leave the area. On their return they will need to give back the pass so that we can account for where the children are.
It is recommended that children bring old clothes to school that are suitable to run in (a change of clothes is advisable) and also warm clothes and a rain coat to wait in.
If the weather is not good and the cross country is postponed to 11 June, a message will be left on the information line, extension 2. Please note there will not be anyone available to take phone calls until the office opens at 8am. If both days are cancelled due to bad weather then we will run the races as and when we can fit them into the school day.
