Term 2 ends at 3pm on Friday 9th July

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Whole School Assembly tomorrow 25th June (Team 3)

Hapori (Team 3) will be leading our whole school assembly tomorrow Friday 25th June at 2pm in the school hall. You are all welcome to come along.

New classroom arriving next week!

We expect our new classroom to arrive by road in two deliveries between 4am and 5am (dependent on travel times from Whangarei, where they have been built) on Tuesday 29th June and Wednesday 30th June. If you live on Glamorgan Drive or have family or friends who do, could you ask that they park their vehicles off the road if possible.

Congratulations to the year 6 netball girls who represented our school with distinction, great sportsmanship and team work at the netball filed day yesterday. Mrs Cutfield was very proud of you and so are we all!

World-A-Thon sponsorship money due by tomorrow

All sponsorship money should be handed in by tomorrow Friday 25 June. Please put the sponsor sheet and money in an envelope, clearly labelled and send to school .  Alternatively,  funds can be deposited into the school account (ASB 12 3080 0059486 00) with the reference AThon and your child’s name and the sheet sent into the office with ‘paid online’  written on it. Thank you for your support.

Parent/Teacher/Child Discussions and mid year reports
On Monday 28th June your child’s mid year report will come home. Please check your child’s bag. The mid year report is designed to inform you about where your child is in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum.
Feedback from last year’s simplified report was that parents and caregivers liked the more succinct information along with more time to meet the teacher. Therefore the format of the report is slightly different to previous years and the discussions will again be held over several afternoons and for 15 minutes per family.
Your feedback was also that parent discussions in term 1 and 2 are more useful than term 4 as meeting earlier in the year gives teachers, parents and children time to work on any goals discussed. Term 4 seems too late as the year has almost finished so a written report to end the year is best.
Therefore, in term 3 we will hold Sharing the Learning which is an open afternoon for all family and whanau to come along and see what their child/ren are learning at school and another written report will be sent in term 4 with parent discussions only for those who feel they need one.
This term we are offering discussions again on:
  • Tuesday 29th June between 3:15pm and 6:00pm,
  • Wednesday 30th June between 3:15pm and 5:30pm and
  • Tuesday 6th July between 3:15pm and 5:30pm.
The link and code to make a booking for a discussion is below:        Code: 7rbn9
Photos – online orders now open

Photo Access Key slips for individual, family and class photos taken this term have been sent home. Please note the ‘free delivery’ time period for parents to place orders closes at midnight on Sunday 27th June.  You can order photos after this date but the delivery is not free. All orders go through PhotoLife – the school takes no orders or money for photos.

Drop off zone in the mornings

A reminder that the drop off zone is only for drop off before school and nobody should be parking there. If you need to go into school with your child or see the teacher then please park down the road. Also the gate by the caretakers shed should be avoided whilst building works are ongoing.
