Travelwise News – Walking School Bus routes

Start off your day in a positive way! Join a walking school bus or start one up – this helps your children be active and make new friends, while it reduce risks and stress at the school gate, and it’s good for the environment. Walking in the morning is proven to have positive effects on children’s behaviour and helps them focus on learning during the school day. As a bonus it’s a great way to get fit yourself too!

Glamorgan School is establishing these routes, get in touch and have a go! Children get a bus ticket and are rewarded for their walking, parents take turns so you only need to walk one or two days a week.

2022 Enrolment Applications

If you have a child turning 5 next year or know of anyone else  who has a child and wants them to come to Glamorgan School in 2022 please let the office know as soon as possible. All in zone children are guaranteed a place.

Out of zone applications- advance information

Any out of zone applications for 2022 will to go into a ballot held in October, if we have any places to offer. All out of zone applications must be in to the school office by Wednesday 29th September.

Please note: if you have a child enrolled out of zone already or a child who was enrolled in zone but you have now moved out of our zone, this does not give any other siblings in your family an automatic place at the school. Each out of zone enrolment must go through the ballot process and therefore it is essential you apply as soon as possible. If in doubt ring the office and ask as we only hold one ballot per year!

Drop off zone in the mornings

Please move down the drop off zone in the mornings so we don’t have traffic queuing down Glamorgan Drive as the drivers think the drop off zone is full. The gate by the caretakers shed is closed before school so main access is by the bus shelter anyway and moving down is closer to this gate. The top gate is fine to use at 3pm.

Board of Trustees Meeting

The next Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Thursday 19th August at 7pm in the administration building and anyone is welcome to come along.
