Jammies in June (and July!)

For many years Glamorgan School has supported the Middlemore Foundation by collecting new pairs of pyjamas for them to distribute to thousands of children and young people in need across South Auckland. This year, as well as distributing jammies, they are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to get Winter Warm Up packs to as many families as they can. Depending upon need, each pack can contain jammies, blankets, hot water bottles, heaters, draught stoppers, and window seals.

To support this we will be having a Pyjama Day at school on Tuesday 5th July. Wear your PJs to school and bring a NEW pair of pyjamas to donate, or bring a gold coin donation to put towards a Warm Up pack for a family in need.

Congratulations to:

  • Year 6 netball teams

On Wednesday 22nd of June, the year six netball players went to Netball North Harbour for a field day/tournament. There were four different games against four different teams. All of the teams played very well. We played against teams all the way from Westmere to Orewa. Glamorgan 6/1 got into the semi-finals against Greenhithe 6/1. Greenhithe won with a grand total score of 14 – 6. Everyone played very responsibly and showed great sportsmanship, supporting each other along the way. Sometimes we lost, sometimes we won, but at the end of the day, we’re all winners and we did our school proud! Many thanks to the coaches and managers who took time out of their day to come and support us.

Report written by Katherine Arnold and Harriet Boyens.

Lost property

We have an awful lot of lovely clothes in our lost property bin! The children have looked with their class this week, but if your child has lost property this term please check the box at the back of the hall. Any lost property left at the end of term will be donated to charity.

Security cameras

After a spate of vandalism, fires over the last summer holidays and in 2021 and break ins over lockdown last year the Board has decided, on advice from the Police and Fire Service, that security cameras may be helpful for the school to have. These cameras will not record during the school day and footage will not be kept beyond the the memory of the machine which is around two months.
