Term 3 ends at 3pm on Friday 30th September
Kia ora koutou. Hello everyone.
Welcome back to term 3 and a special warm welcome to all new families and children to the school this term. Thank you for your ongoing support into term 3 especially with mask wearing indoors in years 4-6 and keeping children who are not well at home. This winter has certainly thrown many illnesses and viruses our way and we are definitely looking forward to Spring and hopefully some sunshine! We are also looking forward to having the Nanogirl Labs Superhero Science presentation for the school next week – finally after rebooking three times over the last year! We have adapted this to meet current guidelines and will be using the hall with only half the school at at time, year 1-3 in one session and years 4-6 in the second session. There is no cost to families for this presentation.
Remaining term dates for 2022 (also on the front page of the school website)
Term 3 – Monday 25th July to Friday 30th September
Term 4 – Monday 17th October to Friday 16th December (School closed on Labour Day public holiday 24th October)

Planning for emergency situations
You may have heard in the news this week that some schools in the Waikato and Gisborne received threats and had to go into lockdown for a period of time. We have a basic emergency kit for each classroom that could be used in the event of a traumatic incident such as an earthquake or lockdown. Each class is provided with a toilet bucket and paper, rubber gloves, plastic cups and spoons and water. To complete the kit could you please send a can of food that has a ring pull or a packet of something like muesli bars for instance that has a long shelf life, to your child’s teacher. The teacher will store these in the classroom for the year. It needs to be something that your child will eat! At the end of the year the food will be donated to the Salvation Army food bank. Many thanks.
Our school uses ezlunch – please see info below.
