2023 Glamorgan School 50th Jubilee-athon – Online Sponsored Fundraiser

It is a very special year for Glamorgan School! To celebrate our history and to support our school’s future we are holding a Glamorgan 50th Jubilee-a-Thon fundraiser in Term 2.
Our Glamorgan 50th Jubilee-a-Thon will support the children in learning about the school’s 50-year history through a programme of fun activities and events during the week of 22nd to 26th May.
Children will be collecting online sponsorship for their participation in our 50th Jubilee-a-Thon. All funds raised will go towards an exciting new refurbishment of our well-loved, and extensively enjoyed, 22 year old playground. This will benefit current and future Glamorgan students!
How will this fundraiser work? This year we have partnered with online fundraising company Go Raise It.  Collecting sponsorship online makes it super easy for everyone – no more door knocking, your child can collect more donations from further afield (friends & family living overseas, work colleagues etc) and no need to worry about handling cash!

Next Thursday 4th May your child will bring home a letter with all the details about the fundraiser and how to sign up. We will also pop this letter onto the school website under Parent Information- A-Thon and email it to parents as well. Our launch day is Friday 5th May when the site opens and is ready for you to sign up and our a-thon week is 22-26 May.  Look out for the information and sign up over the following weekend to be in the draw for spot prizes drawn daily the following week!

GLAMORGAN GOES GOLD DISCO – Friday 12 May 2023

The disco is on Friday 12 May and we have had a good start with sponsors coming forward.

We’re looking for volunteers to help on the day/night to pull it off. Specifically, we need help with:
– Set up, from 3pm in the school hall
– Running stalls during the disco, from 6.00-8.30ish
– Pack down, right after the disco

If you can help with any (or all) of those, please fill in the form here! Thank you to those who have already been in touch to volunteer, it’s always much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

We encourage you to follow our Facebook page to stay up to date on what FOTS events are happening.

Know someone who would like to help, please share this email with them. No longer involved with Glamorgan School, let us know and we can remove you from our list.

Resene Wall Worthy Competition 2023

In this competition ten lucky schools, youth groups or early childhood centres won the chance to paint their little piece of New Zealand Beautiful. To enter, a mural design for our local community which communicates an environmental or conservation theme such as sustainability, biodiversity, climate change etc had to be submitted. One of our Learning Assistants, Fiona De L’Isle, submitted a design for a mural at our school and is one of the ten winners! See her design below.
