Netball Tournament

By Emma McKay and Ella Khaled Abdulla (Year 6 students)

On Wednesday the 10th  of August the Glamorgan Netball Team went to Kristin School for a Tournament. The day started with all of us getting to school and the roll was called. When it was 9.00 am we started to board the bus for the 10 to 15 minute drive to Kristin. When we got to Kristin the Basketball, Hockey, and Netball got split up to go to their place at the school. At Netball it was really busy and our coach  was not there at first so we started to warm up by ourselves.

The first game was amazing because we won against Torbay Yellow and the score was 14 to 1. We were so happy that we won so we began to get more confident with each game. The second game came around and we versed Oteha Valley and the score was 10 to 4. We felt amazing when we won!  The third game was against Long Bay and  we won by 8 to 3 . Finally, it was the fourth game and we played against Upper Harbour.  The score was 12 to 2. It was the second to last game before the finals and we were against Kristin and the score was 9 to 1. Also it was really easier than we expected! The last game before the finals, we played Albany, it was really hard! The score was really close but Glamorgan still won and the score was 9 to 2.

The final game was against  Greenhithe and we played really hard. The score was even 5 to 5  so we tied for first in the finals. We were very proud of ourselves .  There were seven people at the start and only four people who came onto the bus back to school. It was a very tiring day for us because we had another game after school. That was an amazing trip and we hope we get to do it next year.
