Term 3 ends at 3pm on Friday 22nd September

Term 4 starts Monday 9 October and ends Friday 15 December

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Food Bank Collection

St Mary by the Sea Anglican Church in Torbay runs an emergency community food bank for the local community.  They are finding it increasingly difficult to have a sufficient supply to meet the requests they receive.

Glamorgan School would like to support them as they have helped our families in the past with food parcels and vouchers. Any in date canned, or dried food or store cupboard food item donations will be gratefully received.  Could you please bring any donations in to the school office by 19th September.

We currently have quite a number of children away from school with chickenpox which seems to be in the wider community and other local schools as well. Symptoms include fever and spots with a blister on the top of each spot. This is not a notifiable disease, but infected children must stay away from school until all the blisters have dried. This applies to all children whether they are vaccinated or not.

Lost property

We have a lot of lovely clothes in our lost property bin! If your child has lost property this term please check the box at the back of the hall. Any lost property left at the end of term will be donated to charity.

Road safety

Please use the crossing on Glamorgan Drive and be a positive role model for our children rather than crossing on the brow of the hill at the front of the school. This is so dangerous for children to be doing as cars cannot see them until it is too late, but they are following others including adults and so think it is ok.

Friends of the School News
Our next meeting is on Monday 11 September at 7pm in the staff room. All are welcome to join us, don’t be shy! Email with any questions, or come along and see how you can get involved.
Thank you to all who attended and donated to last weekend’s quiz night and auction – events like this are impossible without your support! We had a lot of wonderful donations from local businesses too; check out our Facebook page to see the full list and please support them! The overall quiz winners were Team Discombobulated, who scooped up a voucher for Browns Bay Brewing Co and passes for Magic Loft.  In total, we raised around $4500 towards the new playgrounds, so thank you all again!
The kids (and teachers!) have worked really hard on this year’s Calendar Art, and orders will be opening in the next few days. Stay tuned for more details soon…
