Term 3 ends at 3pm on Friday 22nd September

Term 4 starts Monday 9 October and ends Friday 15 December

Kia ora koutou.  Hello everyone.

Food Bank Collection

St Mary by the Sea Anglican Church in Torbay runs an emergency community food bank for the local community.  They are finding it increasingly difficult to have a sufficient supply to meet the requests they receive.

Glamorgan School would like to support them as they have helped our families in the past with food parcels and vouchers. Any in date canned, or dried food or store cupboard food item donations will be gratefully received.  Could you please bring any donations in to the school office by 19th September.

We currently have quite a number of children away from school with chickenpox which seems to be in the wider community and other local schools as well. Symptoms include fever and spots with a blister on the top of each spot. This is not a notifiable disease, but infected children must stay away from school until all the blisters have dried. This applies to all children whether they are vaccinated or not.

Save the date – 18 October Sharing the Learning afternoon

On 18th October children will be invited to share what they have been learning about with parents and whanau during Sharing The Learning afternoon between 3pm and 6pm. Families are welcome to bring different members of their whanau at different times or come as one group with their tamariki and let them show you what they have been learning about at school. The more the merrier!

2024 Enrolment Applications

If you have a child turning 5 next year or know of anyone else  who has a child and wants them to come to Glamorgan School in 2024 please let the office know as soon as possible. All in zone children are guaranteed a place.

Out of zone applications- advance information

Any out of zone applications for 2024 will to go into a ballot held on 18th October, if we have any places to offer. All out of zone applications must be in to the school office by Wednesday 11th October.

Please note: if you have a child enrolled out of zone already or a child who was enrolled in zone but you have now moved out of our zone, this does not give any other siblings in your family an automatic place at the school. Each out of zone enrolment must go through the ballot process and therefore it is essential you apply as soon as possible. If in doubt please ring the office.

Board meeting

The next Board meeting will be held on Wednesday 20th September at 7pm in the administration building. Please contact the school office if you wish to attend.

It’s calendar time again!

The students have been busy creating artwork that can be made into affordable Calendars, Cards, Diaries, Mouse Mats and Sketch Pads. Each product is made from your own child’s art. These make unique Christmas gifts for family and friends. Plus, for each purchase, a percentage goes to our school to support our new playgrounds!

If your child did not make an artwork, or if you would like to use a different piece of art, you can upload it on the website and order any of the products.

The order is open from 11 September until 25 September. Payment can be made on the website via credit card or account2account. This year we are processing the orders earlier to make sure you have all the family presents ready for Christmas!
