Friends of the School (FOTS)
Who are we?
We are a friendly and welcoming group of parents who give up a bit of our time to help make the school a better place for our children. Whilst fundraising is our core goal, organising interactive opportunities for the school community is just as important. FOTS events include school discos, quiz nights for parents, fun runs, school fairs, and sausage sizzles. However, to make these events a success we need your help…
How can you help?
Become a FOTS Member
Members are asked to attend one meeting a month, if possible. They are held at 7.30pm on a Tuesday at the school. The meetings are an opportunity to dream up new and creative ideas for fundraising and to help co-ordinate, organise or assist with upcoming events.
Become a FOTS Supporter
Supporters are people who can’t make the meetings but still want to be involved and are happy to be called upon to help out now and again. We add your details to a ‘supporter database’ and let you know of upcoming events and to see if you have a bit of time available to help out.
Many parents hesitate to join FOTS because they feel they will need to give up so much time. However, just a couple of hours a year can make all the difference and the more people who join, the more it’s shared. It’s also a great opportunity for grandparents to get involved too!
If you would like to join, or want to find out more, contact us at office@glamorgan.school.nz or feel free to fill in your details here and leave it at the office. We’d love to hear from you.
