Kia ora Parent(s)/Caregiver(s),
This week, our Year 6 students and staff attended camp at beautiful Tui Ridge in Hamurana (just outside Rotorua). Firstly, we have to give a huge thank you to the parents who so graciously gave their time to volunteer. It goes without saying that without their help, the camp could not take place - thank you! Secondly, to our teachers and Glamorgan staff who spent many additional hours preparing for camp, giving 24-hour supervision to the kids over the three days, providing first aid, enthusiasm, encouragement, and sometimes a supportive chat when their student(s) were missing home, you are appreciated! It is not lost on any of us that you give up time with your families to ensure our students have a fabulous camp experience - thank you!
Camp is a really important time for kids. For some, it’s the first experience of a prolonged period of time away from Mum and Dad. For others, it’s the opportunity to try new activities and take measured risks that may extend them a bit beyond their comfort zone. From the giant swing, slingshot paintball, wall climbing, the high ropes course, and Burma trail, our kids are offered every chance to connect with others, rise to new challenges, and prove to themselves they can not only survive but flourish in new situations and experiences, well done, Year 6s! I am confident everyone will sleep well this weekend.
Years 2-6 will have parent-teacher discussions on April 4th and 10th. Please see the next section in this newsletter for information on how to log in to School Interviews and book an appointment with your child’s teacher.
We have some safety concerns about our school pick-up time. To support the flow of traffic and ensure all our kids (and families) are safe, please read the updated pick-up procedures below in the Health & Safety section. This system will start next week - Week 9. Thank you in advance for your support.
Ngā mihi nui,
