Sports Overview

During the year, a variety of sporting opportunities organised through our school are available

We have after school and weekend teams playing netball, hockey and miniball (junior basketball). These teams have a teacher facilitating the organisation of the teams and collecting fees. However, we are reliant on the assistance of parent volunteers to manage and coach these teams. If managers and coaches are not available, we are unable to enter teams.

Other school wide sporting events take place during the year. In May, we have a whole school cross-country with the distance of the races dependent on the age of the children. In November, the whole school is involved in our Athletics Day. From these two events, a team of children aged 9 to 11 are chosen to represent Glamorgan School at our local school cluster competitions.

During Term 1, a group of Senior School children represent us at our local cluster swim meet. These children train during their lunchtime in preparation for both of these competitions.

Teams also represent our school in a local cluster winter sports tournament and a netball field day.

Should your child wish to participate in any of the out of school hours teams, please approach the staff members listed.

We look forward to another successful sporting year at Glamorgan School and to the continued support of all those families who assist us.
