Kia ora, Glamorgan Whānau,
With just one more week before the holidays, we're certainly hoping this beautiful sunshine stays!
With just one more week before the holidays, we're certainly hoping this beautiful sunshine stays!
Wednesday morning started bright and early with our 7 AM Matariki breakfasts, and it was truly wonderful to have so many from our community join us. It was a beautiful celebration of Matariki, the Māori New Year, a special time for reflection, gratitude, and looking forward to the year ahead. The kai (food) was delicious, and the performance from our Kapa Haka group was a delight! A huge thank you to all the teachers who helped with the setup, and an extra special acknowledgement to our teacher, Lindsey Heystek, for her incredible organisation of this wonderful and successful event.
Another fantastic success last week was our FOTS Bingo night! Thank you to everyone who attended this fun evening and to our community for its incredible generosity with the auction and prizes. The FOTS team, especially Jo Hawkins, is truly a stellar bunch, and the countless hours they spent organising are deeply appreciated.
You may have seen Constable Simon Fox from our local Police Detachment on site last week, checking for children being correctly seatbelted. For your child's safety, please make sure they are always buckled in whenever they are in a car.
This is just a heads-up that reports will go live on Hero next Wednesday, June 25th. Please take a moment to review the attached information, which explains the recent changes we've made to reporting. When you look at your child's report, please remember it's a snapshot in time. Our dedicated teachers are continuously supporting your child's growth every step of the way.
Finally, a very Happy Matariki to everyone! Enjoy the public holiday with family and friends this Friday.
Ngā mihi nui,
Anna-Marie McAleer
